The principle behind Prague Visitor Pass is very simple. Once you purchase and activate the pass, it functions as a single-use ticket and a travel pass. All you have to do is present your active pass when entering the facility and you will receive a ticket. It is important to note that each building can only be visited once during the validity period of the pass. However, unlimited travel on public transport is valid for the entire duration of the pass.

You can get the Prague Visitor Pass at points of sale, via the website or mobile app.

A physical Prague Visitor Pass is a standard card to carry in your wallet, which you show when entering the buildings. It requires collection at the point of sale.

A digital version (e-Pass) offers a modern solution available directly on your smartphone. After its activation in the app, you will receive a unique QR code replacing the plastic card. The condition for using the e-Pass is registration in the application.

Prague Visitor Pass Activation Process

Prague Visitor Pass is very easy to activate and the activation date is up to you. When purchasing online, you will receive an electronic voucher by e-mail, which can be printed or saved on your mobile phone. After that you will visit one of the points of sale to collect the plastic card. The staff at the point of sale will then activate the pass for you.

Process is faster with e-Pass. You activate it directly in the mobile application by entering the code from the confirmation e-mail. The validity of your pass starts from the moment of activation.

Along with it, the price of the pass also includes unlimited travel on public transport within Prague. You will only need to show your QR code (e-Pass) or physical Prague Visitor Pass. Please keep in mind that the ticket does not apply to suburban buses or trains.

An important part of this official tourist card is also free admission to sights and experiences. This applies to many of the main historical monuments (e.g. Prague Castle, The Cathedral of St Vitus or The Old Town Hall with its famous Astronomical Clock). You will also get a chance to rent bikes, try a river cruise or be part of some of the guided tours. Prague Visitor Pass mobile app is available for free for both iOS and Android phones. It is an easy way to enjoy all the benefits of the tourist card without having to carry a physical card. In the app, you can directly purchase an electronic version of the pass (e-Pass), or activate a voucher purchased on the website or at the point of sale. Registration is required to use the app.

The app allows the purchase of multiple e-Passes at once, which is undoubtedly good news for families or groups of travelers. Once activated, the app generates QR code, which serves as a ticket. You can then just show it at the entrance to the monument or when checking in at public transport.
